MasaPe comes from a trading family in Bangalore. Goods bought and sold across the city's markets for decades. The kind of firm where the proprietor knows a thousand part numbers by heart, where the day starts with the phone and ends with the phone, and where the phone means WhatsApp.

Somewhere along the way, the market moved. Enquiries that used to come over the counter came as messages. Quotes that used to be written on letterheads arrived as photos of price lists, voice notes, PDFs, and one-line texts saying "MRP less 48, ready stock." The trade didn't slow down, it sped up. But the tools never arrived. Everything important lived in chat scrollback, and everything in scrollback eventually dies.

We watched it happen in our own firm. A vendor's best-ever rate, quoted in March, unfindable by June. An afternoon spent scrolling five chats to compare three prices. The nagging feeling, after every order, that someone somewhere would have done it two percent cheaper, and that two percent was the margin.

So we built the tool we needed

Not a CRM with WhatsApp bolted on. Not an ERP that needs a consultant and a training week. A system that works the way Indian trade actually works: the conversation is the workflow. You ask for prices the way you always have. MasaPe reads the replies, ranks them, remembers them, and sends your orders, while your vendors see nothing but normal WhatsApp messages.

We used it ourselves first. The enquiries on this product's demo screens look real because the workflow is real, it is how our own purchases run every day. When the savings figure on the home screen stopped being a demo and started being money, we knew other traders needed it too.

What we believe

• Upgrading isn't betraying tradition. Your father's ledger became Tally. Your WhatsApp becomes MasaPe. The relationships stay yours; the system just stops the leaks.
• The trader's time is the most expensive input in the firm. Software should give hours back, not add data entry.
• Your data is yours. Export everything to Excel whenever you like. Delete your account and every byte from inside the app. No lock-in, ever.
• Win on fit, not noise. We would rather be the exact right tool for the 60-million-strong MSME trading economy than a vague tool for everyone.
